This project focuses on utilizing molecular biology techniques to investigate epigenetic changes in brain organoids by targeting specific genes and proteins.
This project focuses on utilizing molecular biology techniques to investigate epigenetic changes in brain organoids by targeting specific genes and proteins. The study involves the construction of key genetic constructs, including TIGRE-dCas9-GCN4 and pVLX_KDM5A_scFV-gRNA, to modulate gene expression. Through the design of guide RNAs targeting NEUROD2, and using the demethylase KDM5A, the project aims to elucidate the impact of epigenetic modifications on gene regulation and chromatin remodeling processes. The flexibility of the protocol enables seamless targeting of other regions and epigenetics modifications. The inclusion of control constructs and the utilization of GFP as a reporter gene will enhance the robustness and specificity of the results.
This project focuses on predicting drug retention times in liquid chromatography using machine learning.
This project focuses on predicting drug retention times in liquid chromatography using machine learning. Retention time (RT), unique to each drug, depends on its chemical properties and the chromatography setup. Data on drug structures and retention times from different labs and platforms has been gathered in a training and test set. Through supervised learning, we aim to create models for quick and accurate predictions. Ultimately, this could streamline drug analysis in diverse lab environments.
Beyond my passion for life sciences and oncology, I find joy in expressing creativity and exploring the natural world. Photography allows me to capture moments and perspectives, while music provides a space to relax and express myself, especially through playing the cornet.
In the winter, you can often find me on the slopes of my homeland, Valais, in the heart of the Swiss Alps, whether skiing or snowboarding.
